INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS SPECIFIC TO PERMIT SUB-CLASS E1 GOVERNMENT OR PARASTATAL EMPLOYEE

ELIGIBLE PERSON:

This sub-class of Resident Permit shall be issued to a person employed on government contracts including a person serving in tertiary institution or parastatal.

DEPENDANTS:

Eligible dependants may accompany the principal applicant. But will have to apply for M2 resident permit.

TRAVEL DOCUMENT:

Any genuine and recognized travel document valid not less than 6 months.

PERMIT FEES:

100.000frw or free depending on agreement

VALIDITY OF PERMIT:

2 Years

PERMIT EXTENSION:

This permit may be extended upon application.

CHANGE OF STATUS:

Change is permitted on application

CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT:

Applicants are required to provide a certificate of good conduct from recognized law enforcement authority of the country they have been residents for the last 6 months.  
This certificate has to indicate whether the applicant has not had any criminal convictions.

REQUIREMENTS:

*One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf. The photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable.

*An application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration by the employer.
*Curriculum Vitae
*Original Police Clearance from the country you have lived in for the last 6 months
*Contract with a government or parastatal institution
*Notified Diploma/degree certificate
*Copy of the contract

RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS:

*Permit application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration from employer
*Copy of valid contract
*Copy of green card.

PROCESSING TIME:

3 Day

Transcription:

For the applicant whose permit is in the expired or lost passport, will pay 10,000Frwfor the permit to be transferred in the new passport. 

N.B:

To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew his/her visa before expiration of the current visa. Penalty fee is 20,000frw in a period of 6 to 15 days of the delay. Article 34 of the Ministerial Order No. 02/01 of 21/05/2011 establishing procedures and regulations implementing Immigration and Emigration law, categorizes other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.
