Dependants of Temporary Resident holder

INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS SPECIFIC TO PERMIT SUB-CLASS M2 DEPENDANTS OF A TEMPORARY RESIDENT HOLDER

Eligible Person:

This sub-class shall be issued to a dependant of a temporary resident holder. 

Where to apply:

*Applications should be made at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration. 

Travel document:

Any genuine and recognized travel document valid not less than 6 months. 

Permit Fees:

Half of the principal applicant 

Validity of Permit:

Shall have the same validity as of the principal applicant 

Permit Extension:

This permit may be extended upon request by the applicant 

Change of Status:

The holder of this permit is free to may change his status. 

Working in Rwanda:

Work is permitted upon request made to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration and the applicant must fulfill all procedures and requirements of work permit. 

Number of entries:

This type of permit allows the bearer multiple entries 

Certificate of Good conduct:

Applicants are required to provide a certificate of good conduct from recognized law enforcement organ of the country where the applicant has been a resident for a minimum of last 6 months.  The certificate should indicate whether the applicant has not had any criminal convictions. 

Transcription:

For the applicant whose permit is in either the expired or lost passport, will have to pay 10,000frw for the visa to be transferred in the new passport. 

Requirements:

*One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken, without glasses, caps and scurf. The photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable.

*An application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration. 

*Original Police Clearance from the country you have lived in for the last 6 months 

*Notified marriage certificate for the married applicants 

*Notified birth certificate for a child 

*Copy of the resident permit for the principle applicant. 

*CV for the dependants who are above 18 years 

Renewal of dependant visa:

Requirements:

*An application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration by the principle applicant. 

*A Copy of green card issued by DGIE

*Copy of the resident permit of the principle applicant.

*A bank slip of 50,000 Rwf paid to RRA;  Click the following link to request for payment advice ticket to take to the bank.  

Processing time:

3 working days 

N.B:

To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew his/her visa before expiration of the current visa. In case of delays between 6 to 15 days, the applicant is liable to pay the penalty fee of 20,000frw. Article 34 of the Ministerial Order No. 02/01 of 21/05/2011establishing procedures and regulations implementing Immigration and Emigration law, specifies other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.
