DEPENDANTS OF TEMPORARY RESIDENT HOLDER

INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS SPECIFIC TO PERMIT SUB-CLASS M3 ENTITLED TO A FAMILY MEMBER OF A PERMANENT RESIDENT HOLDER

ELIGIBLE PERSON:

This sub class shall be issued to a close relative or any other person who may be considered as a family member of a holder of permanent Resident permit. 

WHERE TO APPLY:

*Application files are submitted at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration Head quarters. 

TRAVEL DOCUMENT:

Any genuine travel document valid not less than 6 months. 

PERMIT FEES:

Half of the principal applicant 

VALIDITY OF PERMIT:

3 Years 

PERMIT EXTENSION:

This permit may be extended upon application. 

CHANGE OF STATUS:

The holder of this permit may change his status depending on circumstances. 

WORKING IN RWANDA:

Work is permitted upon request to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration and the applicant must fulfill all requirements prescribed for the work permit. 

NUMBER OF ENTRIES:

This sub class allows the bearer multiple entries 

CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT:

Applicants are required to provide a certificate of good conduct from recognized law enforcement authority of the country they have been residents for the last 6 months.  The certificate has to indicate whether the applicant has had no criminal convictions before. 

TRANSCRIPTION:

For applicant whose permit is in the lost or expired passport, will have to pay 10,000frw for the permit to be transferred in the new passport.

REQUIREMENTS:

*One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken, without glasses, caps and scurf; (the photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable). 
*A completed application form: (Click here for application form!
*An application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration. 
*Original Police Clearance from the country you have lived for the last 6 months. 
*A Copy of the resident permit for the principle applicant. 
*A copy of the Cubiculum vitae for the dependant above 18years of age. 

RENEWAL OF DEPENDANT VISA:

REQUIREMENTS:

*One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken, without glasses, caps and scurf; (the photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable). 
*A fully completed  application form: (Click here for application form!
*Application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration by the principle beneficiary. 
*A copy of the green card 
*A copy of the resident permit of the principle beneficiary
*A bank slip of 50,000 Rwf paid to RRA;  Click the following link to request for payment advice ticket to take to the bank.  

PROCESSING TIME:

3 Days 

N.B:

To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew her/her visa before expiration. Penalty fee is 20,000frw from a period between 06 to 15 days of the delay. Article 34 of the Ministerial Order No. 02/01 of 21/05/2011establishing procedures and regulations implementing Immigration and Emigration law, categorizes other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.
