Holiday Worker

INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS SPECIFIC TO PERMIT SUB-CLASS P2 HOLIDAY WORKER

Eligible Person:

This sub-class of Resident Permit shall be issued to a student of a recognized institution of higher learning working during his/her holidays or a student who has just completed studying.

Dependants:

The bearer of this sub-class of permit may have dependants, But dependants will have to apply for M2 resident permit.

Where to apply:

 
*Applications should be submitted at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration Head Office or at Immigration Regional Offices.

Travel document:

Any genuine and recognized travel document valid not less than 6 months.
Permit Fees:
10,000 frw

Validity of Permit:

2 Years

Permit Extension:

This permit may be extended upon application.

Change of Status:

The holder of this permit may be allowed to change his/her permit in accordance with changes in his/her status.

Working in Rwanda:

Work is permitted

Number of entries:

Multiple entries

Certificate of Good conduct:

Applicants are required to provide a certificate of good conduct from a recognized law enforcement authority of the country they have been residents for the last 6 months.  The certificate is to indicate whether the applicant has had any criminal convictions.

Transcription:

For the applicant whose permit is in the expired or lost passport, he/she will have to pay 10,000 Frw for the permit to be transferred in the new passport.

*One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf. (The photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable).

*An application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration.
*Curriculum Vitae
*Original Police Clearance from the country you have lived for the last 6 months
*Recommendation from the institution where the applicant is affiliated in Rwanda
*Recommendation from the school and school Identification Card
*Diploma or academic testimonial 

 Requirements for the renewal:

*One colored passport size photo with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scurf. (The photo should be attached to the application form by use of glue stick. Stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable).

*A recommendation letter from the employer, addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration
*A bank slip of 50,000 Rwf paid to RRA;  Click the following link to request for payment advice ticket to take to the bank. 
*A Copy of green card

Processing time:

3 Days

N.B:

To avoid penalties, the applicant should apply/renew his/her visa before expiration of the current visa. Penalty fee is 20,000frw in a period between 06 to 15 days of delay. Article 34 of the Ministerial Order No. 02/01 of 21/05/2011 establishing procedures and regulations implementing Immigration and Emigration law, categorizes other penalties from 16 days to 9 months and above.
